Advanced Dental Technology for Outstanding Care
Dr. Michael Molnar is dedicated to staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the dental field. In this way, he is able to incorporate new methods and dental technology into his Tarrytown, NY, practice. With these innovative tools and techniques, he can provide highly accurate care with minimal discomfort for more patient satisfaction.
Our Advanced Options
Dr. Molnar proudly uses Waterlase, soft and hard tissue lasers, DIAGNOdent, and air abrasion instruments in many of his procedures. With these tools, he can minimize discomfort. He can also perform more efficient and accurate treatments. In addition, Dr. Molnar uses advanced imaging technology, including transillumination and intraoral cameras. Thanks to these devices, he can obtain precise views of all of your teeth for early diagnoses.
With our innovative tools, your treatment will be easier, more accurate, and more efficient than you may ever have thought possible.
Air Abrasion Instruments
Along with dental lasers, Dr. Molnar can use air abrasion instruments to reshape your teeth. He will often use these tools to prepare your teeth for dental crowns, fillings, and similar restorations. Both lasers and air abrasion instruments are often gentler and more precise than manual tools. With this advanced technology, your treatment will not involve drills, jarring vibrations, or unpleasant noises.
Laser Dentistry
With the innovative Biolase® Waterlase laser, Dr. Molnar can perform both soft and hard tissue treatments. Waterlase combines laser energy with soothing streams of air and water. Using the device, Dr. Molnar can remove very small amounts of tooth and gum tissue to provide accurate care that is tailored to your exact needs. Laser procedures also involve very little discomfort and recovery time because the laser will seal your tissues during treatment.
Dr. Molnar also uses the DIAGNOdent laser cavity detection. This tool can allow him to diagnose cavities before they cause significant structural damage. DIAGNOdent will measure the levels of fluorescence in your teeth. If you have an unusually high level, it will typically indicate decay, signaling the need for treatment before you need a more extensive procedure.
LIGMAJECT®
Like many patients, you may be nervous about receiving injections of local anesthesia. LIGMAJECT® is a uniquely shaped syringe that will efficiently deliver anesthesia only to the areas being treated, preventing widespread numbing from past treatments. Your injection should involve minimal discomfort, will provide significant numbing, and will take effect quickly. Thanks to the ease of delivery, it will take very little time to receive LIGMAJECT® local sedation.
Transillumination
Cracks and decay on the backs of teeth can be hard to detect. Often, these issues do not cause discomfort. Consequently, they can go unnoticed until the cracks or cavities grow larger, compromising the structural integrity of your teeth. A transilluminator helps Dr. Molnar to obtain a highly accurate 3-D image of teeth, allowing us to look for decay or damage around fillings. We can often find decay and damage in its earliest stages, when it is easiest to treat.
Intraoral Cameras
Similarly, an intraoral camera will allow Dr. Molnar to diagnose cavities and structural damage in the early stages. Intraoral cameras are handheld devices, about the size of a pen. Dr. Molnar will take pictures of your teeth, and he can send these images to a chair-side computer. There, he can magnify the images many times, uncovering the smallest irregularities. Thanks to intraoral cameras, he can also show and explain restorative procedures to you, such as with dental crowns. You will stay completely informed about your dental health and treatment options.
Digital X-rays
Our office only uses advanced digital x-rays during treatment. This technology allows us to take much more accurate scans of teeth that we can easily manipulate and magnify on the computer. Digital x-rays also expose patients to far less radiation than traditional film techniques, and are far more comfortable to undergo.
