The procedure is easy, painless, and fast, with results achieved in about one hour. Our take-home whitening kits use comfortable trays that we make for you in our office by taking impressions of your upper and lower teeth. Most patients wear the trays with the whitening gel in them overnight, but you can wear them for a few hours at a time whenever you like. What to Expect with In-office Whitening
We recommend a regular teeth cleaning in our office before you have your teeth professionally whitened. To begin your in-office whitening procedure, we will apply a protective covering onto your lips and gums so the whitening gel doesn't affect them. Next, we will coat the front surfaces of your teeth with the whitening gel. The dental light will then be shone onto your teeth in order to activate the gel. After about 15 minutes, the gel will be removed from your teeth, and a fresh coat will be reapplied. Three 15-minute sessions is usually enough to achieve the desired whitening, and the results are immediately visible. After you have had in-office whitening, you can use a take-home kit to maintain your results with periodic touch-ups.
